Mo was one of the first ones to come aboard my boat when I serendipedously came into Findhorn Bay. And then she came back with a bottle of her favorite; sitting on deck taling and talking and sipping the Scotch.
There have been many sips since. I have always felt her around me, even when away. As I will continue to feel.
Mo forwarded me this in 2005. I think it really sums up her generation!
Subject: We are survivors Date: Fri, 30 Dec 2005 23:01:54 +0000 from a Mum who is proof of this!!!!!!! with so much love, ALWAYS..........
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms.........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL! And YOU are one of them! CONGRATULATIONS You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good and while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!
Dear Mo Sending you and your family much love and my very best wishes at this challenging time. I was very chuffed to see that the portrait of you on this blog is the one I took for the NFA noticeboard! Oh happy times we had... tee hee. Come back Mo, the place is nowhere near as much fun without you. Love from Lisa M xx
With this I am sending blessings and little lights and lots of love with Angel-energy (some of them a bit naughty as should be) to MO. She is my friend, my example my inspiration, my challenge sometimes, and I love her. I would like to put some pictures up of her, which I made this summer, in her wonderful raised veggie beds next to her caravan, while she was being (with reason) proud of the harvest. For you all to see. (If it does not work I'll give you a link lateron) Blessings to you Mo, a unique woman with passion, power as well as compassion & care. Love to you Mo from Adriana.
Hi Mo, I'm sure that part of you is aware of what is happening around you as you were always sensitively tuned in to the etheric - a place of greater beingness. The best diamonds are the rough cuts, the more you journeyed inwards to meet Mo, the finer she sparkled, all colours of the rainbow and then pure fire! Many conversations ended with 'well bugger that' and then we'd share stupendous rebellion together - whatever that looked like. Mo welcomed and sheltered me from a marriage that was ending and a life falling apart before it could rebirth itself anew. Thankyou Mo for being you - a glamourous scarlet woman and wise, powerful crone. Be filled with peace and grace. With love from all our family. Sue.

(Robert Kennedy)
Scarlet Mo - I think that you have well and truly made your ripple in this lifetime and I wish you courage and blessings for your onward journey of transition down the river. Much respect dear sister and Elder.
With love on all the dimensions - from Nikki x (Time of the Sixth Sun)
Dearest Mo, Although I am far away I never forget you. You were one of my first friends at Findhorn, my neighbour and dearest friend. Over the years our paths crossed sporadically and you are always a delight and an ispiration. Your home is always open as are your heart, your mind and your mouth. Outspoken outgoing outrageous. You break all the rules. I love you. See you soon xxxxx Ruth
Rob and I were so happy to have you at our wedding, and grateful for all the behind the scenes things that you helped us with! Our photographer and friends really enjoyed staying with you at your B & B, as we were touched by your letter of deep appreciation.
We are holding you in our hearts - with prayers, love and blessings for a graceful journey to the next place. I would like to ask you - what is your favorite song - because I would love to sing it for you ...
I have strong memories of you being a faithful Youth Project supporter - and this has been much appreciated by all us teenagers over the years who have greatly benefited from the Y.P. Whether it was buying our cakes, attending our valentines dinner's or hall sharings - I always remember seeing you with your big smile, loud laugh and brightly colored hair in the audience! Thank you - from all the Y.P. people for your continued support and belief in us!
You are a true inspiration to me that growing old does not mean getting a boring purple rinse and wearing sweat pants - I hope that I have bright green hair and wear multicolored tops when I am your age - you go girl! ... and I hope you keep it up - up there!
Sending you lots of love, blessings and appreciation xxx

As far as I'm concerned, Mo is indestructible (or for the New Agies: "an indestructible being of light")
ReplyDeleteHer caravan was the first place I stayed in Findhorn and I'll always be grateful.
I expect she'll be planning the community's priorities for the coming year quite soon.
Love,
Ray
